In addition to our curated calls for submissions, we have two ongoing open calls for submissions: one for our storefront window display; the other for the gallery space itself. As part of our commitment to risk taking, we encourage submissions from anyone with an interesting idea for a piece, regardless of experience level. At present, we are unable to offer CARFAC fees or exhibition fees of any kind; however, we do have a space to show art. We reserve the right to recieve a commission on any sales that take place through the gallery.
We are always interested in works that can show in the front window of our gallery. Facing onto Sargent Avenue, this 70"x 55" window space offers a direct interaction with the community. Works that exploit the capacity for storefront windows to act as interventions into public space will be given preference.
In addition to our curated programming, we are interested in proposals from artists and curators who would like to exhibit in the gallery. We are most interested in work that shows new directions for artists, work by emerging or overlooked artists, collaborative projects, and work that is fun. The gallery is approximately 9'5" x 21', so exhibitions are limited in scale.
Submissions for either type of exhibit can be made by email or by snail mail. Please include an artist statement, a detailed description of your project (especially including any technical details), CVs for all participants and 10-25 support images in Jpeg format and/or a 5 minute DVD (NTSC).
